Bridgetown.
Redjet is still going ahead with plans to sue the Government of Barbados, this was comfirmed yesterday by executive chairman of the airline Ian Burns yesterday at a meeting with its creditors owned $250 or more by the grounded air carrier.
"Our lawyers have been instructed and will soon be writing to the Government. We believe that were we are today is a direct result of the Government of Barbados not honouring its word and that's why we will be going to court because that's the only place that we can prove if our position is right or wrong", Burns said.
Trustee Dr Grenville Philips told the meeting that Redjet and its shareholders have taken legal advise and have been informed that there is a prima facie case to commence such action.
Several of the airline's creditors rejected Redjet's offer to repay a minimum of 25 percent of the money owned to them.
Redjet legal adviser Anthony Audain and Supervisor of Insolvency Dianne Greenidge also attended the meeting.
