Piarco: Yet another problem with a Redjet airline has left 50 people stranded at the Piarco International Airport this evening.
The airline which got permission to fly to this country only after undergoing rigid scrutiny over it's safety procedures was forced to ground a flight due to depart Piarco for Georgetown, Guyana around midday today.
Up until a short while ago the airline was still grounded at Piarco as engineers struggled to resolved the problem.
Several passengers we're told have turned to Redjet's main competitor Caribbean Airlines in an attempt to get on to flights to Guyana.
Caribbean Airlines' next flight to the South American country is tomorrow morning and officials there say while there has been no official request by Redjet to help in the situation they are seeking to accomodate as many passengers as they can.
There's has been no officials statement from Redjet on the issue and attempts to reach their representatives in trinidad were not successful.
Redjet had undergone several assessments of their safety practices and the conditions of their aircrafts before being granted permission to fly to this country.
The long delay forced the airline to delay it's initial start-up date of operations while the airline's officials maintained that their standards were set above required limits.
