The management of low cost carier Redjet and the Government of Barbados are holding discussions to address the delay in approving new routes for the airline.
Chief Executive Officer of the company Ian Burns says Redjet is not moving out of Barbados over the dispute. He that position made it clear as Redjet awaits permission for the Government of Barbados to operate the St Kitts, Grenada, St Lucia, Antigua and St Maartens routes, even though the carrier has already received licences from the governments of those countries.
Burns told reporters that the airline would not relocate its base from Barbados if the Government grant it permission to fly the routes. He said getting approval for the pending routes would allow Redjet to create 100 new jobs and deliver half a million new low fare seat for Barbados.
