Redjet should be flying to Trinidad and Jamaica soon

Bridgetown

Barbados' Minister of International Business and International Transport, George Hutson told a press conference yesterday evening that the issue of Redjet meeting certian safety requirements was raise by Trinidad and Tobago's Transport Minister, Austin "Jack" Warner, at a meeting on Thurs day.

"I met with Minister Warner and Jamaica'sTransport Minister, Mike Henry on Thursday in Port of Spain,it was agreed that although the  Caribbean had an excellent record in terms of safety in the aviation industry, this remains one of the concerns of the two countries. As a result, Redjet has been prevented from flying into Trinidad and Jamaica", Hudson said.

"The issues raised in Trinidad have been relayed to our Director of Civil Aviation, Anthony Archer, next week he and his counterparts in Trinidad and Jamaica will work with Redjet to resolve the issue. Once this is done, there should be no obstacle to the airline flying to Jamaica and Trinidad", he added.
