Georgetown: Owner of the Regent Multiplex Mall on Regent Street was Sunday morning gunned down after being attacked at his home at La Jalousie, West Coast Demerara (WCD).
The police say that at about 12:10 hrs Sunday morning businessman Ganesh Ramlall, 48 years, of La Jalousie, WCD, had just returned home and gone to use the outside bathroom when he was confronted by four men who shot him about his body and took away his licensed firearm, jewellery and a wallet and escaped.
Ramlall, a Regent Street mall owner, was pronounced dead on arrival at the West Demerara Regional Hospital.
His wife, Chikrakha Ramlall reported that the businessman arrived home and headed to the washroom in the yard just around midnight, when she heard gunshots ringing out.
The woman said her husband was found lying on the tiled floor just outside the backdoor. She said he had a number of shots to the body including one to his head.
Police are investigating what appear to be an execution.
