Georgetown: With the growing awareness among people throughout the world for the urgent need for innovative vision and bold leadership to resolve the critical issues of our time, a five-member Guyanese delegation is set to be amongst a highly selective group of several thousand delegates from around the world to attend the World Summit 2020, to be convened on February 3rd to the 9th, 2020 in Seoul, South Korea.
This World Summit will include current and former Heads of States, Parliamentarians, Religious Leaders, Women Leaders and Civil Society Leaders dedicated to dialogue and collaboration for the sake of peace and human development.
Representing Guyana on this world stage will be five Ambassadors for Peace. The delegation is headed by Haji Dr. Roshan Khan, National Chairman of the Universal Peace Federation Guyana and Appointer of Peace Ambassadors; Rev. Dr. Ronald McGarrell, Church and Spiritual Leader and General Secretary of the Universal Peace federation Guyana and includes Pastor Diego Alphonso of the Ministry of Social Protection, Pastor Mervin Marshall, and Sister Susan Agatha Harris Rijkaard, President of the women’s arm of the Universal Peace Federation Guyana.
World Summit 2020 is sponsored by the Universal Peace Federation International as part of its longstanding and ongoing World Summit series which promotes interdependence, mutual prosperity and universal values.
Over the five day period, the World Summit 2020 will bring together world leaders, whose individual and collective experience, wisdom and insight are needed if we are to build a world of mutual understanding, sustainable peace and prosperity for all under the universal theme of “One human family under God.”
