East Coast Demerara : At about 9:30pm yesterday, two men, suspected to be burglars, were seen exiting a house at LBI, East Coast Demerara (ECD).
They were confronted by residents during which one of them was shot and injured to his right foot by a licensed firearm holder after he attacked them with a cutlass. He was been identified as Vijay Ragnauth, 28 years, of Success, ECD, and is under guard at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.
His accomplice was also caught and is in police custody.
Investigations have led to the recovery of a number of stolen household articles, including electrical appliances, and the arrest of six men and two women who are suspected of receiving some of the stolen property.
