Residents not happy with response from ambulance service

Bridgetown.

Residents of Long Gap, St Michael, are calling for much more urgency from the nation's ambulance service when responding to emergency calls.

On Wednesday afternoon, several residents looked on helplessly for almost 45 minutes as life slipped away from Randell Morris, 55 of  Britton Hill, st Michael, who collapsed while working on a house in the area.

Several calls were made to 511 emergency number requesting that an ambulance be sent to the area for Morris, the ambulance took over an half hour to reach the area .

Residents have expressed  the view that given the short distance between Long Gap and the hospital the reponse from the ambulance service was too slow.
