Review of sugar industry

Landell Mills Ldt, one of the world's leading international consulting development firms has conducted a comprehensive review of the Barbados sugar industry for the Government of Barbados.

The review was funded by the European Union at a cost of $3.4 million, the 18 month study commenced in January 2010 and contains recommendations for improving the productivity and efficiency of the sugar cane industry.

Special focus has been placed on the operations of the Barbados Agricultural Management Company (BAMC) giving its predominance in the industry and its role as a Government owned entity.
