Bridgetown.
The rift between Leader of the Oppostion Barbados Labour Party (BLP) Owen Arthur and Mia Mottley appeared to have widen.
Yesterday Mottely a former Leader of the Oposition in a newspar article requested a a one on one meeting with Arthur to discuss the issue of Rawle Eastmond nomination and other matters.
Eastmond a five times consecutive winner of the St James North constituency for the BLP, has expressed concerns that even though he holds the seat in the House of Assembly, he has to take part in run off to determine who will be the BLP's candidate for St James North in the next General Election.
On Monday Mottley told the press she had requesting the with Arthur because the circumstances demanded that she did so.
She added it was unfair to Eastmond to proceed with the nomination process without a meeting between the leadership of the party and Eastmond.
Today Arthur described Mottley's public request to him as the ultimate discourtesty , adding that such a meeting could now be held only in Independence Square.
