Georgetown: Three men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, entered Big G Store at UG Access Road, Cummings Lodge, East Coast Demerara, and held up sales attendant, Sharon Gomes and escaped with $175,000 and two cellular phones at about 20:25hrs last night.
After leaving the Store, the robbers stopped motor car PKK 7909, which was proceeding along the roadway, assaulted the driver and stole his car. They made their escape in the stolen vehicle and another waiting motor car.
The stolen car was recovered about 11:30hrs today at ‘B’ Field, Sophia as investigations continue.
