Chaguanas: Just days after being freed of a murder charge, former police officer Selwyn "Robocop" Alexis has been re-arrested by officers of the riminal Intelligence Unit under the supervision of Superintendent John Martinez.
Alexis was held at his Enterprise, Chaguanas mini-mart around 8.30 pm Monday.
He was then taken to his Freedom Street, Enterprise home and from where he was later led away by police officers.
Alexis was arrested on September 9th at his One Woodbrook Place apartment for the October 7th, 2008 murder of Vincent Emanuel Simmons, but was later released because the evidence of the main witness proved to be unreliable, forcing the State to withdraw the matter.
When contacted Superintendent Martinez this afternoon offered no reason for Alexis' arrest, but relatives who expressed outrage last evening at the developments, say officers were in search of certain documents.
