Georgetown : Minister of Home Affairs, Clement Rohee launched two publications namely, “Securing our Nation”, a collection of his speeches since he took his current Office and “Our Public Security Legislative Agenda- Bills, Motions and Debates”, at the Police Officers’ Mess, Eve Leary, yesterday.
The Minister dedicated the “twin publication” as he called them, to President Bharrat Jagdeo and Head of the Presidential Secretariat (HPS), Dr. Roger Luncheon, whose unwavering support he said, led to the many successes that the security sector and the Ministry of Home Affairs have witnessed.
“It is to keep the Guyanese people informed with regards to what is happening at both the Government and Parliament levels,” he said.
Minister Rohee said that the security sector is a very complex one and attracts a lot of criticisms. He recalled reading from “experts” who cited a total breakdown of law and order in Guyana; criticisms which he said are permissible in a democratic society.
