Roraima Airways named five man team to probe cocaine bust at CJIA

 

Georgetown : Roraima Airways has today established an Independent Commission of Inquiry to probe and inquire into the circumstances surrounding the discovery of illicit drugs during the delivery of catering services under escort of an agent of the Aviation Security (AVSEC) Division of the company at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport.

The Commission’s Terms of Reference are wide, including a comprehensive review of the Standard Operating Procedures employedby the Aviation Security (AVSEC) Division with a mandate to recommend necessary improvements, and give the Commission unfettered access to all Roraima Airways staff, records, and systems relating to Airport Operations.

Members of the Commission were selected because of their diverse skill set and more particularly their independent minds.

Members are as follows:

The Commission of Inquiry has commenced its work and is expected to submit a final report on September 23, 2012.
