Nazeer Ahmad, Professor Emeritus of the University of West Indies, during his address to the Climate Change Adaptation Session in Dominica claims that over 9,000 hectares of land in Jamaica has been out of agriculture production because of the intrusion of salt water due to the rising sea levels.
This is also prevalent in other Caribbean countries.
