Georgetown : The police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred at about 7:15 a.m on Lombard Street, Georgetown, and which resulted in the death of Savitree Chandra of Covent Garden, EBD.
The police say the 30 year old Savitree Chandra was the pillion rider on a motor cycle, when the driver attempted to overtake a motor lorry and the handle of the motor cycle came into contact with the lorry. As a result they fell unto the roadway and Savitree Chandra was run over by the lorry. She was pronounced dead at the Georgetown Hospital.
The drivers of the motor lorry and the motor cycle are in police custody assisting with the investigations.
