Georgetown- Turning to a life of crime for youths is quite easy these days particularly when they are influenced by ex policemen who become part of a serious criminal network. During the last 3 months from November 2010 to present day there is almost a daily robbery some ending in fatalities and serious injuries to innocent victims. Apart from few successes by the police to make arrests, the armed robbers often make good their escape. But for one 17 year old school boy things went horribly wrong after he decided to make a terrible mistake by joining forces with two other accomplices. Their intention was an armed robbery at a Guyoil gas station along the eastern corridors at Good Hope Mahaica. The ex-policeman, the boy's associate was the driver of the car used in the failed robbery. The robbers were able to penetrate the facility and removed articles before they were confronted by the owners. Both men were shot and hospitalized after the owners opened fire. While many are pleased with the owners retaliation to subdue the criminals, others are concerned about the youngster who has turned to a life of crime.
