St John’s Antigua : The two Special Security Services guards who were involved in this week’s shooting are said to have carried guns despite not being authorized to do so by their employer.
A source close to the incident said, “If any fire arms were used, they were not from Special Security Services Limited.”
The source also said that only about 2 per cent of the company’s 700 guards are issued firearms.
The guards were allegedly arguing with each other on Wednesday when one, Corwyn Campbell, was shot in the neck in the Dickenson Bay area.
Campbell was admitted to hospital. The other guard was taken into custody.
They have not been charged so far.
