Georgetown : Today at around 4 a.m., private security guards Stanley Brown, 50 years, of Mahaica, East Coast Demerara (ECD); and David Barrow, 53 years, of West Ruimveldt, Georgetown; were on duty at a construction site at Pattensen, ECD, when they were confronted by two men, one of whom was armed with a firearm.
There was an exchange of gunfire during which Stanley Brown was struck to his right foot and David Barrow to his left foot. The perpetrators managed to escape.
Stanley Brown and David Barrow have been admitted to hospital as the investigations continue.
