Seven police officers back in court for Moruga murders

Moruga: Seven police officers charged with the murders of three people in Moruga back in July, reappeared in court today and appeared for the first time before a Princes Town Magistrate, after the matter was transferred to the District Court.

The appearance of the officers generated widespeard attention in Princes Town as scores of citizens stood outside the court to catch a glimpse of the seven officers.

Among those outside the court, were the relatives of the three people killed in July.

The area around the court was cordoned off and traffic redirected, with heavily armed police officers standing guard around the court.

The accused officers are Corporal Khemraj Sahadeo and Constables Antonio Ramdhin, Glen Singh, Roger Nicholas, Renaldo Rivero, Safraz Juman and Nicole Clement.

They have all been charged with the murders of Kerron Eccles, Abigail Johnson and Alana Duncan.

When the officers arrived outside the court, they were all jeered by onlookers.
