Georgetown: Guyana has once again moved up the watch list of the US and Caribbean drug enforcement agencies. This follows the latest bust by Jamaican authorities on board the MV Vega Azurit from local shores. Some 13 kilos of cocaine valued $77 million local currency was found stashed between 5 persons who have all been arrested. The ship was enroute to the United States. Local authorities on the ground have been briefed about the situation and are reportedly seeking others involved in the find. Guyana over the years continue to be under strict observation by local and international drug enforcement agancies as millions worth in cocaine is smuggled annually through the borders.
