Shoplifter placed on bond

Bridgetown.

Leah Carter, 21, of Vaucluse, St Thomas,   was placed on a bond for 12 months after she pleaded guilty to stealing a number of items from Duty Free Caribbean.

According to Prosecutor Sergeant Derwin Thompson, who  outlined the facts in the District A Magistrates' Court yesterday,.

Carter and a friend went into the store with a friend and a security guard saw them behaving suspicously and aproached them, the other woman run but Carter was held and a number of items were found concealed under a cloth.

Magistrate Deborah Holder placed her on a bond if Carter  breaches the bond, she will have to pay $1500 forthwith  or spend  nine months in jail.
