East Bank Demerara : Wajid Ishmael of Grove Squatting Area, East Bank Demerara was treated for a gunshot wound at the Hospital and sent home this morning.
Early Easter morning just after 3:30 a.m, 67 year old Wajid Ishmael was awaken by a noise in his home and upon investigating was confronted by two men, one armed with a hand gun.
Ishmael held on to the armed man and a scuffle started before he managed to break free and run out into the yard where he was shot to his right thigh. The perpetrators then took away a cell phone and escaped.
