Sinckler says sorry

Bridgetown.

Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler has tender a public apology June Fowler, the chairman of the Barbados Investors and Policy Holders Association (BIPA) over comments he made about her on a political platform last week.

Speaking to a large crowd of supporters at a meeting hled by the Demorcatic Labour Party in Deacons Farm, St Michael last night, in the heart of the constituency he is contesting, Sinckler said his comments were not against Fowler personally but against the point she made.

Sinckler said in his view Fowler's comments sought to impugn his integrity and imply he was trying to mislead the Barbadian public on the contentious issue of CLICO.

"However, I have a wife and I have girl children too, so I feel that it is incumbent on me to withdraw my comments and issued an sincere apology to Mrs Flower", Sinckler told the cheering crowd.

"I apologize to her husband, her family and the members of her organization. I sincerely apologize. I should not have said it. I got a little upset and I felt justified in my being upset but you still got to be charitable to people". Sinckler added.
