Single engine aircraft crashes, pilot, policeman survives

Georgetown: Authorities are searching for a single engine aircraft which crashed in the Canal Number two, West Bank Demerara area around 19:00 on Monday, Director General of the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority Egbert Field confirmed.

He said that the aircraft was returning from Aruwow on a medivac mission when the incident happened.

Fields said the pilot called in reporting “no fuel”.

The plane bears United States registration markings NA 704T. Reports indicate that the pilot is connected with the Seventh Day Adventist-run humanitarian mission.

Two aircrafts are currently circling the area for the damaged aircraft and survivors.

Onboard was the pilot who is listed as safe, a police officer who suffered a broken leg and the body of someone who was being transported.
