Six officers charged with misbehaviour after taser gun abuse

Chaguanas: Six police officers are expected to be charged with misbehavior in public office and assualt.

This stems from an incident at the Chaguanas Police Station last year when three men were arrested.

It is alleged that the officers repeatedly shocked the men using a taser gun. The six officers were accompanied by President of the Police Social and Welfare Association Anand Ramesar and attorneys Keith Beckles and Joseph Honary when they surrendered to the police.

Sergeant Ramesar admits that these incidents will further undermine public confidence in the police service.
