Sixteen people were injured when a route taxi (ZR) and tractor collided this morning in Bourbon St Lucy.Barbados' mass casualty response team was pressed into action after an early morning accident involving a tractor and a ZR vehicle in St Lucy.
Two doctors from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QRH) along with 5 ambulances and 10 paramedics responded to the call for assistance. Six people were taken to the QEH by ambulance and 10 others to the Maurice Byer Polyclinic in Speightstown, for treatment for unspecified injuries.
The route taxi was at the time transporting 15 persons, including two children, ages two and five.
The tractor was driven by John Riley of Shorey Vilage, St Andrew and the ZR by Corey Symmonds of Bloomsbury, St Thomas.
