There should be a distinction between requirements for small and large contractors in Barbados.

St Michael says such an approach would give more benefits to small contractors.
" We need to create more competitive industries including construction. So one of the things we must debate on is how do we get small contractors involved in projects whilst at the same time being competitive", Persaud said.
"Some requirements completely exclude small companies, so that is one of type of challenge we have", he added.
Persaud was addressing a class of Construction Management students at the Cave Hill Campus, of the University of the West Indies.
