The Barbados economy remains stable and expanded by 1.5 percent during the first quarter of the year says Governor of the Central Bank of Barbados, Dr Delisle Worrell.
According to Worrell, the growth was led by 2.4 increase in tourism, the other contributing sectors were the International and Financial Services with a 11 percent increase in registrations, a 3.4 percent rise in Construction and a 2 percent increase in the Wholesale and Retail Sectors.
"The Barbados economy remains stable, we may be witnessing the beginnings of a slow recovery but there is some distance to the resumption of a sustained economic growth", Worrell said.
