Bridgetown.

The relationship between employers and workers have improved but there are still companies in Barbados not operating in good faith, this observation was made Sir Roy Trotman general secretary of the Barbados Workers Union(BWU) told a media conference yesterday.

Sir Roy said the BWU had instances where matters had to be taken to the Labour Department because companies were not operating in good faith.

He stated some employers had sent letters to the union indicating workers were laid off after the date of the layoff .

"We think this was not action in good fath , it was reprehensible and I am sadden by it. I have drawn it to the attention of the social partners to indicate that it is not the way to keep faith",Sir Roy said.

The vetern  trade union says the BWU had put job security first and employers had recognised this,he noted.
