Bridgetown.
Speaker of the House of Assembly Michael Carrington says every effort is being made to resolve a long standing issue involving a gun between Minister of Agriculture Dr David Estwick and Opposition Member, Dale Marshall.
Carrington raised the issue during the start of today's sitting of the House after reading a article in the Nation Newspaper that made refference to the matter.
According to the article, Marshall told a public meeting at Villa Road, St Michael, over the weekend a man brandish a gun at him in Parliament and he could not get no satisfaction out of the parliamentary process, or through the system of law in Barbados.
Carrington who is the Chairman of the Committe of Privileges says statements in the article are an indictment on his office.
He told Parliament the Committe has been unable to meet due to the absence of several members from both sides of the House.
