Bridgetown.
A special audit of the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies will be conducted by the Auditor General.
Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler said yesterday, the audit was not about looking for missing money but rather to look at expenditures and revenues at the campus.
Sinckler told a press conference yesterday that the audit was not looking to find any wrong doing.
"You know, as soon as a special audit is mention people think that you are looking for someone who has stolen money. That is not what we are about. We want to get to the real situation of financing at the university, of issues of expenditures and revenue", Sinckler said.
The Minister of Finance said that such a audit had been recommended by the late Prime Minister David Thompson, it was undertaken because of the workload and staff shortages in the Auditor General Department.
