Port-of-Spain: State-owned TTEC has been given five days to re-evalute and improve its health and safety mechanisms for workers following the electrocution of one it's hotline employees Gary Patterson on Tuesday.
The directive came from Labour Minister Errol McLeod who called a meeting of all stakeholders including the representing workers union the OWTU on Friday.
Following almost two hours of talks Minister McLeod says TTEC has been mandated to improve its safety systems.
Minister McLeod has directed that TTEC's hotline work remain suspended until the board gives the assurance that safety will be reinforced for all workers across the board.
