The University of Guyana (UG) could soon incorporate a greater focus of 'Drug Demand Reduction' into its curriculum.
This initiative commenced today, with a two-day "Drug Demand Reduction Educational Development" workshop for its faculty members at the Regency/Suites Hotel, Brickdam, Georgetown
The undertaking is being funded through a US$20,000 grant from the Organization of American States (OAS) by way of CICAD which is the Inter-American Drug Abuse Commission.
CICAD’s role, according to Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Dr Emanuel Cummings, is to have universities in Latin America and the Caribbean include programmes to help address drug demand reduction.
