Surgar shortage will be over soon

Bridgetown.

The sugar shortage in Barbados will soon be over, a source at the Barbados Agricultural Marketing Company (BAMC) told Trakker News, eleven hundred tonnes of sugar is expected into the island within the four weeks.

The BAMC imported 75 tonnes of sugar from Guyana last Wednesday for the domestic market but this has all been used. Another 300 tonnes of sugar is currently at the Bridgetown Port waiting to be cleared.

According to the source, the shortage was created by external sources in the supplier market.
