Georgetown- The Surinamese police are hunting for a Guyanese man living in Suriname, who is now on the run after setting his reputed wife and step child on fire. Information from Suriname is that the man Lante Johnson suspected that the woman was cheating on him and doused her along with the child who she held in her arms with gasoline setting them on fire. The child suffered severe burns about the body and succumbed at the Academish Ziekenhuise(hospital) in Flustraat.. His reputed wife is clinging onto life at the hospital. Surinamese police believe that the man is likely to flee to Guyana through the backtrack route. Local police are informed to be on the look out for the man.
