Bridgetown.
The major concern of LIAT is survival, not fare wars, this is the view of chairman of the airline Dr Jean Holder.
In an interview with Trackker News, Dr Holder said that the aim of the the airline is to ensure that it survives and prosper for another half century.
Holder was responding to the question of whether LAIT could survive a "fare war"in the region.
"LAIT will focus on how to compete with whatever competition is in the marketplace. The airline has survived for the past 55 years and many airline have come after," said Holder.
"Where are they now"? He added.
"Everybody loves a fare war. I don't spent my time talking about these things. My business is to strategize with LIAT in order to ensure it survives for another 55 years. It has been around for 55 years and has been in fare wars before with other airlines which no longer exist", says Holder.
