Georgetown- A daring daylight robbery at Beterverwachting on the East Coast of Demerara ended just before noon today after the bandits were chased by police and a public spirited citizen. Trakkernews understand that the two armed men, one known as 'one foot' robbed a man at BV of an undisclosed sum of money. According to unconfirmed reports the victim is said to be an assistant commissioner of police. The men reportedly dumped a pistol in the Middleton street trench after they sped away from the police who were hot on their trail. The bandits were on a motorcycle CD 367 when they turned into Dennis street and slammed into a parked minibus shattering the back glass infront of Best Buy Supermarket. Both man were apprehended while on the ground. They received serious injuries as a result of the smash up.
Police with the help of a handy man searched almost an hour in the Middleton street trench and recovered a pistol concealed in a plastic bag. So far there is no news of the stolen cash, but according to reports there was a third accomplice who may have taken possession of the loot during the getaway, he is still at large.
