Suspicious package on American Airlines flight

 Port of Spain; American Airlines flight 2282 had to be turned back from its destination to Miami Florida in the United States, after it was instructed to return to Piarco due to a suspicious package that was discovered onboard. The flight which was scheduled to leave at 6.55 am was delayed for more than four hours

The plane was said to be taxing along the runway when airport security received an anonymous call about a suspicious package on board. The plane was taken to a remote area and the passengers were removed from the aircraft in order for a thorough search to be carried out by the Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago security personnel and the police.

Police source said nothing was found on the aircraft and that all the precautions were taken. The AA flight eventually departed Piarco at 11.37 am.
