ST JOHN’S, Antigua: The police are investigating a report of wounding at Skerritt’s Pasture that left a 37-year-old Sutherlands man nursing stab wounds to the upper body.
The victim, Eddie Warner, has been warded at Mount St John’s Medical Centre with injuries inflicted by an assailant who was armed with an ice pick.
According to a police press statement, the incident occurred around 9 pm near the victim’s home.
It is alleged Warner and his attacker, who is known to him, had an argument, which eventually led to a fight.
During the scuffle, Warner was stabbed in the head, back and left shoulder.
A villager rushed him to the hospital. Doctors at the hospital reported that the injuries are life-threatening.
