The National Cultural Foundation (NCF), has fired the judges of the preliminaries of the Sweet Soca Competition and has announced that the competition will be rejudged.
A press release from the NCF today stated that following a series meetings with its stakeholders regarding the results of the preliminary judging of the Sweet Soca Competition, an appeal was made to the Aribiter of the Competition by some concern calypsonians, in accordance with the Rules of the Competition.
After hearing the matter,the Arbiter issued a decision that rendered the preminar judging of the Sweet Soca Competition null and void.
Consequently, a new pannel of judges is to be selected for the re-judging of the Preliminaries of the Competition.
A new Producer and Assistant Producer have been appointed for the Sweet Soca and Party Monarch Competitions.
