Bridgetown.
President of the Barbados Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Andy Armstrong, says some of the measures imposed in last year's Budget by Minister of Finance, Chris Sinckler, to raise Government revenue may have gone too far.
Armstrong told Trakker News that on reflection, the measures slowed consumer spending and pulled money out of the economy.
He also express the view that measures such as higher bus fares, rescinded tax allowances on travel and entertainment along with the increase VAT. hit the pockets of consumers causing them to cut back on spending.
