East Bank Essequibo : At about 11am today a man hired Taxi- driver Joel Mc Curdy at the Demico Car Park, Georgetown, to go to Parika. Along the way the passenger requested the driver to go into the Tuschen Housing Scheme, East Ban Essequibo.
While in the Scheme, the man took out a knife and stabbed Joel Mc Curdy to his chest and a scuffle ensued during which the perpetrator also received stab wounds.
Public spirited persons responded and assisted in the arrest of the suspect who is receiving medical attention at the Leonora Cottage Hospital. Joel Mc Curdy has been admitted to the West Demerara Regional Hospital.
Investigations are in progress.
