Bridgetown.
Members of the Barbados Secondary Teachers Union (BSTU) will march this morning from the union headquarters in 8th Avenue Belleville, to the office of Chief Personnel Officer (CPO) Gail Akins at the corner of Culloden Road and Collymore Rock.
The march was scedule to take place yesterday morning at 9.30 in the morning, it was cancelled after the BSTU received information from the police that they had not given 48 hours notification of the march as required by law.
President of the BSTU Mary Redman told the press that the CPO did not respond to the union request as outline in a letter last month, we wanted that meeting to deal with issues at Alexandra School between the staff and the principal Jeff Broomes.
"We need to meet with her so that we can fully put our case forward and she can be apprised of all the facts, so that the decision to separate Mr Broomes from Alexandra can be made", Redman said.
Today is the sixth day of industrial action by the BSTU against Broomes.
