Teachers warned not to leave money at school

Bridgetown.

Teachers are being warned not to leave money on the school's premises after three schools were burglarize earlier this week.

Three rual schools St Elizabeth Primary School in St Joseph, Dacosta Edwards Primary and Chalky Mount Primay in St Andrew were broken into on Wednesday night,  the Learning Centre  at Orange Hill, St James was broken into last weekend.

Principal of DaCoasta Edwards Primary Priscilla Miller said the thieves damaged doors and stole two watches, two case of soft drinks and  a sum of money.

Over $300 was stolen from the St Elizabeth Primary, the principal Cicely King said her office was ransacked   and three filing cabinets were damaged.

The thieves took over $4000, a surge protector and a bag from the Learning Centre, a school for challenged children.

  Police Public Relations Officer, Inspector David Welch told Trakker News that lawamen are investigating the burglaries, he advised pr incipals and teachers not to leave money at the schools.
