Georgetown :Yannick Willis who was shot by the police is today under guard at the hospital
And listed in a stable condition.
Yesterday ranks of a mobile police patrol at Bachelors’ Adventure, ECD, saw Yannick Willis, 19 years of Bachelors’ Adventure and who was wanted for questioning in relation to robbery under arms, riding a bicycle along the roadway.
On seeing the police approaching, Yannick Willis rode away. He was pursued by the police and during efforts to arrest him, he was shot and injured to his left foot. Efforts are being made to retrieve a firearm he was seen throwing into a nearby canal.
Yannick Willis is a suspect in an armed robbery committed on Latchmin Tapsie of Mon Repos, ECD, on May 03, 2011. She was held at gunpoint by a man armed with a firearm while walking along the roadway at Mon Repos, who took away her jewellery and cell phone and escaped.
