Berbice: Two teens are amongst four persons arrested and charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking Monday at the at the Reliance Magistrate’s court.
They were granted $5,000 bail each and ordered to return to court on 31st July. The juveniles were released into the custody of their parents.
The teens were held along with 28 year old Damien Southwell of Welfare Street, West Canefield, East Canje; Jagdesh Jumgat, 22 of Canefield, East Canje, Berbice with possession of narcotics.
Reports disclose that on Friday 12th July, 2013 police were on patrol in the area when they observed the youths acting in a suspicious manner. They were searched and two grams of leaves, seeds and stems of which was suspected to be the marijuana plant was found. They were arrest and charged. In the meanwhile Southwell was on another charge of disorderly behaviour committed on the said day at the Reliance Police Station. He was also granted 5,000 bail on that charged and will have to return to court on the same date.
