Georgetown:The Alliance For Change in a statement to the press said that it strongly denounce the repugnant behavior of Ruslan Volokhov, General Manager of UC Rusal/ Bauxite Company of Guyana Incorporated (BCGI) who on May 8 threatened workers with physical violence.
The AFC believes that such attitudes and behavior on the part of Volokhov breeches all modern norms, codes and principles of an equitable relation of production and should be immediately dismissed. A just and equitable relation of production entails access to satisfactory conditions of work. This is not a privilege to be awarded whimsically by the employer but a fundamental responsibility he must deliver at all times, the part added. The threat of violence in the face of unsatisfactory conditions of work borders on the ridiculous and this gentleman should be dealt with most condignly, explained the party. The AFC rejects vigorously any internal probe into this matter. Any investigation that will be worth its salt must be independent. The AFC calls on the PPP administration to abandoned its wonted incompetence and take a firm stance on this issue.
