Georgetown: In an effort to ease the traffic build-up during peak hours on sections of the East Bank Demerara Public road, a three-lane system is being introduced from the Demerara Harbour Bridge to Houston beginning Tuesday. According to the Guyana Police Force, the three-lane system will be from 7 AM to 9 AM and 5PM to 7 PM Monday to Friday. During the afternoon period of from 4 PM to 6 PM, in addition to the two lanes on the eastern carriageway, the eastern lane of the western carriageway will also be used to accommodate motor vehicles travelling south along the East Bank of Demerara highway.
