Health and Safely Laws must be enforced at all business places in Barbados.
This is the view of senior assistant general secretary of the Barbados Workers Union, Orlando Scott, speaking to Trakker News after the death of 62 year old Delise Moore, at the Portlvale Sugar Factory.
According to reports, Moore, the senior electrician at the factory, was working on the breaker system in the factory’s power system doing preparatory maintenance ahead of next month’s sugar crop when he was struck by 400 bolts of electricity.
Scott told Trakker News,” Every workers must be protected in the workplace.Too many business houses feel that a tragic incident cannot occur at their firm and do not take Health and Safely Laws seriously’.
